This lets you adjust shadows, mids, and high separately which, along with vibrance or even just a plain saturation (several options for this including tonemap which can also be used to "remove" a color filter if there is too much of a particular color added to everything for instance - eg if they actually add brown to everything it could be tuned to actually remove that.) I think most of what you've been getting are mods that simply add saturation completely without more balance like this. The key changes are a bit more vibrancy (which is an "intelligent" saturate/desaturate filter) and curves which can enhance darks a bit in addition.
